AWS is my main platform, but a good deal of my work has been on Google Cloud, including a platform I was Principal Engineer on. If your systems are on GCP, you won’t be paying for me to learn it.

Where GCP fits
Cloud Run is the part of GCP I rate most. It gives you container deployment with serverless economics and none of the cluster management, which for a lot of teams is a better fit than either Kubernetes or a function-per-endpoint architecture.
Cloud Functions and Firebase suit event-driven work and products that need a back end without a back-end team. Where GCP is genuinely the wrong answer for what you’re building, I’ll say so — the point is to pick the platform that fits the system, not to defend a preference.
I define GCP infrastructure in Terraform for the same reason I do on AWS: infrastructure configured by hand works right up until you need to change it or recover it.
